Day 894: Salton Sea, Day 8

Remember back on Day 589 when I modified the water heater so we could pump its water back into the RV and live on that water in a pinch?  Of course you do.  One problem that has come up the time or two we actually tried to use this feature is a lack of good flow out of the water heater since the water heater’s anode rod almost entirely fills the fittings it goes through, thereby preventing all but a trickle of water from escaping through the hose attachment I added.  Today I solved that problem by taking my angle grinder to the anode rod, reducing the diameter of the part of the rod that lies within the fittings between the tank and the “T” junction for the garden hose.  Now the water should flow much more freely out of the hose:
