We’re repositioning today, but before leaving Cape Henlopen State Park we visited the Park’s annual kite festival:

We drove south along the coast to Ocean City, Maryland, where we will be spending the first days of Passover parked at Ahavat Shalom.  When we arrived, matzas were being made:

I walked out to the beach this morning:

Trish and B and I drove over to the visitor center and participated in the squid dissection class:

We all went out to the beach:

I was unable to get permission to fly my PPG from the beach, so I settled for kiting the wing:

We drove into Lewes and walked the town:

The Cannonball House, which received fire in the war of 1812:

We walked over to the Ryves Holt House, a unit of First State National Historical Park.  Built in 1665, it’s the oldest house in Delaware:

Towards sunset, I went skating again:

Our water pump stopped working.  Turns out that road vibration had caused the case screws to fall out.  I reassembled the pump:

Later in the afternoon I went for a bike ride.  Much of the ride was on gravel paths so I swapped in the off-road wheels:

As planned, this morning we purchased a larger generator.  It should be large enough to run three air conditioners simultaneously for this summer’s trip.  I have a third air conditioner waiting at home for installation in the living room.  The generator runs on both gas and propane, so I’m hoping I can install the generator in a compartment in the RV and run it using the on-board propane supply.

After stowing the generator, we continued south to Cape Henlopen State Park.  We just fit into our campsite:

I walked over to a couple nearby observation towers, built for Delaware’s coastal defense in the early 20th century:

We decided to spend Passover vacation in Maryland on Assateague Island, as well as visit for the first time Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware.

Getting the RV out of the driveway was a bit of a challenge:

We drove South to overnight at the Tractor Supply in Middletown, Delaware.  See the trip map for this trip’s route.
