This morning I went up for a flight (solo flight #9, I think).  The wind was mild and kept changing directions, but after moving the wing a couple times I was able to launch on the first attempt.  It was too bumpy for my liking up there, so I came down after 5 minutes of flying.  Here I am getting ready to land, the RV is in the center of the frame:

During homeschool, it started to rain a bit.  We toyed with the idea of moving the RV out of the dry lake bed, but the forecast called for scattered showers, so we were confident that the lake wouldn’t flood with runoff from the surrounding hills.  By this evening, it looked like 50% of the lake surface is covered by puddles, with the other half being gooey mud.  It will be interesting to see how long it takes to dry.  We have enough water for about 10 days, so we don’t have to leave any time soon.

This morning, M and I replaced the tube in his motorcycle’s rear wheel.  The tubes we found at Walmart are for bicycles, so they are designed for a tire with a slightly smaller diameter.  To reduce the inner diameter of his motorcycle tire so it matched, we cut the stem off his old tube and left it inside the tire to be used as filler.  The new tube held, and M had a great time zooming around on the lake bed.

My parents had saved my childhod BB gun, and we brought it out to the RV from their house last night.  We will be leaving it here when we leave Las Vegas, but M wanted to learn how to shoot it.  After a brief test, and gave it to him, and he tried all sorts of different firing positions:

Conditions looked favorable to fly, so I got out my PPG motor:

Tonight I helped B mount a metal plate to the underside of her bunk so that her magnetic chandelier, designed to be a school locker accessory, can hang over her desk.  Here I am waving the measuring tape about:
