It’s getting cold out here, so I’m trying to get in a few more rides before the snow comes:

The weather went bad over Shabbos just like the forecast predicted.  By midday, tenters were packing up and heading home.  We went for a short walk on the beach despite the blowing sand.

I was worried that if we left Sunday morning we wouldn’t be able to get home by Sunday night in time for Shemini Atzeres, so we left after Shabbos ended.  We used the dump station and were on the road by 8:30PM and were home by 2:30AM this morning.

After a few hours sleep we cleaned out the RV today.  The trees in our yard are putting on quite a show:

Hopefully our next RV adventure isn’t too far off.

Presumably you know by now that after the end of the trip, we initially decided to move to Phoenix, then decided to stay in New York.  This is the first time the RV has moved since the end of the trip!

Today we got up early and cleared our driveway at 8:30AM.  We drove south, stopping in New Jersey for cheap propane.  We continued south to Assateague Island National Seashore.

I’m sure you’re asking yourself “Haven’t you visited Assateague Island a number of times in the past?” Why yes, yes we have.  Those trips are listed on the All RV Trips page.  Assateague was our favorite pre-trip East Coast RV destination, and we spent time here in the winter of 2009, fall of 2009, fall of 2010, and fall of 2011.

This time we arrived in the afternoon.  We parked the RV at an angle so our windows would be facing the trees, not our neighbor’s RV:

Back in June of 2015 (around Day 676), an interview with Trish was the cover article for the magazine Ami Living (issue 221).  We asked them to not use our last name, so we became Ben and Tricia Kahn.

In this week’s issue 286, the “Mega Sukkos Edition”, a follow-up interview appeared, primarily discussing our transition back to “normal” life.

Today we received Junior Ranger badges from parks we visited on the trip.  We visited Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument on Day 961, but they didn’t have the badges and patches at the time:

The park is one of the growing number of National Monuments administered by the BLM, not NPS, so the badges are different:

We visited San Juan Island National Historical Park on Day 440, but the visitor center was closed that day, so we received the badges by mail:
