Shabbos was pleasant here on Sand Creek near Beulah, Wyoming. Today, I decided to play with the drone a bit. As I was flying, a family of five moved in with their RV:

It was quite warm, so I spent a bit of time wading in the frigid creek.

It’s been very hot here near Badlands National Park, but I’ve lingered so I can fly here. This morning, the weather was finally favorable, so I launched flight 138, my first in South Dakota, and my first with my new Apco Hybrid 22:

Greetings, groundlings:

Looking down at my new photographer friend:

I packed up and drove west, visiting Wall Drug. I was last here in the 90s. It’s still a gigantic, eclectic mess of a tourist trap:

Unfortunately, the visitor center was closed for repairs:

I next visited the South Dakota Air and Space Museum:

I bought some groceries in Rapid City, then continued west into Wyoming:

I’m dispersed camping on the banks of Sand Creek:

I went for a run:
Good Shabbos from near Beulah, Wyoming! See the trip map for today’s drive.
Another beautiful day in the Badlands:

Since I arrived, I’ve been trying to figure out how to get down from the rim into the Badlands. Today I figured out a route:

Looking up at the RV:

Sunrise over Buffalo Gap National Grassland:

I decided to visit Badlands National Park today, and I decided to see if I could get in the back way:

The really back way:

Ultimately, that route didn’t work out, so I drove in the usual way and toured the western side of the park:

Unfortunately, I ran something over and punctured my rear tire, so I learned how to change a motorcycle tube on the side of the road:

Continuing on:

I did a short hike:

On the way back to the RV:

It’s a bit warm here today, I need to work out how to power the A/C with solar:

I played with my new drone a bit:

Nice morning dispersed camping on the west bank of the Missouri River:

Continuing west, I began to see signs for the world-famous Wall Drug:

I drove by the eastern entrance to Badlands National Park:

For the next few days, I’ll be dispersed camping along the rim of the badlands formation in the Buffalo Gap National Grassland:

Nice views from the RV:

I motorcycled around the neighborhood, and ran in to this little herd:
