Winter 2020 Trip, Day 37: Great Smoky Mountains NP, Andrew Johnson NHP

I realized this morning that I’m close to the as-yet-unvisited Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so I decided to make a quick detour.  Unfortunately I had a tire fail on the way so I had to change the tire in the chilly rain.  Despite the delay, I did make it there:

Yes, that’s snow.  I guess it is winter:

Next I visited Andrew Johnson National Historic Site:

Johnson is a fascinating character, and the visitor center and film were quite good.  Johnson’s original tailor shop is preserved here:

Winter 2020 Trip, Day 33: Las Vegas

We enjoyed Shabbos in Las Vegas’ Henderson suburb, spending time with my parents and our family back together.  It was also nice seeing our friends from the Shul.

This morning I ran the 8ish miles on the Mccullough Trail from Anthem to Henderson:

This afternoon we visited with Tricia’s relatives, then returned to my parents’ house for dinner.

Trish and the kids flew back to New York late this evening.  Tomorrow I start driving back to New York.
