I recently took up trail running. Here are some photographs from biking and running in Harriman State Park:

Mountain people would drag cars up into the mountains and live in them or use them to power appliances. The Pittsboro Trail passes quite a few of these old cars:

I installed the levers that hold down the solar array when it’s not tipped up:
The air conditioner cowling was cracked, so I patched it with leftover plastic from the earlier screen door repair:
I decided to remove this hood over the bathroom vent:

I installed the inverter’s remote switch and a shunt and display that shows live power consumption and battery state:

The refrigerator’s exhaust was entering the cabin through an opening above its upper edge, so I walled it off. This will ultimately be a cabinet:

The trim and underlayment was sagging due to water damage, so I glued it back up into position:
I fabricated this foam “floor” for the truck camper so the 5th wheel mount rails wouldn’t be a high point upon which the truck camper would rock back and forth:

The lower screen and the plastic handle cover were both missing, so I replaced them:
I installed the inverter, solar controller, and solar panel shutoff switch:

We said goodbye to Montauk this morning:
On the way home, we visited Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, home of President Teddy Roosevelt:
The visitor center is housed in a house on the estate:
I thought this was interesting because of our earlier visit to Saint-Gaudens NHS:
Roosevelt’s home is impressive:
Our first stop today was Camp Hero State Park:
The park preserves military installations including this radar station:
The gun batteries have been sealed:
Our next stop was the Montauk Point Light:
The museum was spendy, so we decided to walk around the point instead:
In the afternoon, I hiked some of the area’s trails:
Despite being careful, I ended up covered in ticks:
