The first thing I did was replace the propane burner in the refrigerator:
The truck camper is a bit of a mess, even after our heroic cleaning efforts:
Not sure why this fragment of home furniture is attached here:
My paramotor will reside where this cabinet is located, so it needs to go:
With the cabinet removed, the propane enclosure is visible intruding into the cabin:
I removed the generator enclosure below the propane enclosure and installed the propane enclosure in that lower location, so now there’s a hole in the side of the cabin:
I flattened a metal enclosure into a flat sheet and used it to cover the hole in the side of the truck camper:
Propane enclosure door installed:
The inside will need a little work, but now there’s a spot for the paramotor:
This cabinet face needs replacing:
All done:
Next up, testing and installing the solar panels:
I decided to make the panels tip-able, so I connected them together to make one tipping unit:
The water heater is broken, so I decided to install a propane-fired instant hot water heater for the shower. Never mind the warning on the chassis:
In April of 2017, I bought a used truck camper that I hoped to refurbish. In the end, it would have been a ton of work, so I sold it and purchased this one in its place:
This truck camper is essentially functional and should require much less work to get it going. Stay tuned!
We arrived last night around 10PM and squeezed into the alley next to the synagogue, Ahavat Shalom in Ocean City, Maryland. Here’s the view this morning:
We had two wonderful seders in the RV. This morning, Trish made Shakshouka:
More yum:
We will be spending Chol HaMoed on Assateague Island National Seashore, so we have to pull out of the alley next to the synagogue. It’s tough because this narrow road has drainage ditches on both sides or the road, so I can’t pull out very far before I have to start my turn:
We barely pulled it off:
Welcome to Assateague Oreo!
We parked the RV in the same campsite we reserved last year and hit the beach:
Another beautiful day on Assateague! The weather is much better than last year:
This horse was very friendly:
Winds were too strong to fly, so I just kited the wing for a bit:
More roller skating:
Wednesday, 4/24
Another nosy horse this morning:
I drove over to the trailhead for the Rackliffe House and entered the forest:
The original house was built here in 1752:
Back at the RV, more horses:
Trish and B drove to Berlin and did some antiquing. Trish bought this autoharp for her school:
Out for a sunset walk:
We had some company:

We will be spending the last two days of Passover at the synagogue, so today we packed up the RV and drove over to the day use area to say goodbye to Assateague:
We got the RV situated at the synagogue, then unhitched the truck and drove into town to play one of the dozens of miniature golf courses here:
Afterwards, we walked the boardwalk, visiting this great kite shop:
Views from the Ocean City pier:

After a nice last two days of Passover, we decided to drive home now to take advantage of the lighter late-night traffic. Our drive back was an hour shorter than the drive down.
Our three-year RV trip and other travels will be featured in an upcoming book about Orthodox Jews who are “outside the box”. We photographed this portrait for our chapter:
